The One with Your Study Tips

I need your help. I am planning on starting a women's small group for a few ladies in our church, and I'd love to find an awesome curriculum to use. My mom has done many Beth Moore studies in the past and always raves about them, so if you have a particular Moore book to recommend, please share!

The group will likely consist of a perfect mix of 20somethings and 30 or 40somethings. Some of the members have a good grasp of Scripture, but others are hungry to learn as they have just recently turned their lives over to Christ's Lordship. I'm so excited to be a part of helping and teaching them what I've learned and experienced about God, and I look forward to learning from their wisdom and maturity in life.

Please share your recommendations for Bible studies.
Any tips would be welcomed--especially those geared towards women and new believers.

Thanks, friends!

  1. This one isn't geared towards women but I'm in a small group studying Radical by David Platt and it's very challenging. Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby is the best one I've ever done. Captivating by John and Staci Eldridge is great too! Hope it is life-changing for you all!

  2. We are just finishing Wising Up, which is great for newbies because there is no homework and it's about Wisdom from Proverbs. There's a listening guide for each session and the dvd sessions last about 90 minutes each. Our group is from 20s to 70s & they all love it {one of the 70s is a new believer}. Jen Hatmaker and Kelly Minter are also great and a little newer on the scene. Angela Thomas's new one - Brave looks excellent, too, heard her speak on it in person before it came out. Lisa

  3. Generally, anything by CJ Mahaney or his wife Carolyn is very helpful.

CJ writes lots of little books that are great for new disciples and seasoned saints.

His wife also, as you can imagine, writes similar books geared for women and wives/mothers

  6. "No Other Gods" by Kelly Minter is great - and it was sponsored by Beth Moore for her summer online Bible study a few years ago on her blog.

Also, I haven't read it yet, but have heard Sarah Young's "Jesus Calling" is incredible!

    Hope that helps
